While Alice and her father are visiting the newly reopened Appleton Museum, Alice notices a dedication plaque on the wall from something called the Lonely House Foundation. Alice and her friends are now in year 9, and apart from the occasional fight between Toby and Carla, and Professor Longenfang’s drunkenness, things have been uneasily quiet at the Nocturnal Academy.
Then Longenfang realises he needs help because he has lost his Beast, and is sent on a spirit quest into the depths of the Sub-Astral Plane. He is accompanied by Toby and Carla, who each had their own issues to deal with.

Great series of book

I can't wait for the next one just wish they were a bit longer they seem to need some filler to really draw you into the story add in a place where the go to get school supplies now that she is an older student and I am looking toward the to games talked about in the star of this book

Another good entry in series

This series continues to be interesting, although I am giving this one one less star than the others. I wish Professor Abbacus would have stayed on, and the lonely house plotline was interesting but not quite as exciting as the others.

great kids, teen, and occasional parent read

I love this whole series so I recommended to my teenage daughter. We burned through these books and highly enjoyed them. They are clean an ok for younger ages too.
