Amazing like always

After Inferno, I really didn't know what to expect in Incendiary. I know it would be an emotional ride. Full of anger, tears, pain, heartbreak, hope and etc. But what I got it was much more.

The first pages into the story and we got one of the secrets revealed. And I can't express how horrific it was for Sloane. And how much my heart broke for him.

A lot of games going on. And it makes me confused. Who did what, with whom, behind who's back, who's hiding what, who's really is the enemy, who's a friend....Well, I think you got me.

My hate for Cassandra didn't changed. She was as sick, selfish, greedy bitch as ever. And not for a second I felt sorry for her. She got what she deserved. And I don't mention her, because she don't deserve to be remembered.

Georgie is still as alone as ever. You know that saying, you're in full room of people, but you feel alone. This really describes her. And at first I was so pissed, who not one person was fighting in her corner. Or at least it seemed.

Sloane, our broken, tortured rocker. Sometimes I really wanted to stab him with the fork at some of his actions and thoughts. But his love for Georgie always saved him. And in more than one way. She was his salvation. A reason to breath and enjoy a life. To finally have a home.

The more you saw into theirs life, the more you seeing, how similar their where. Don't trusting, but so needing that someone always be by their side. Someone who no matter what, will always love them. And they go a rough path, to find that special person. To find each other.

Kiln was as dick as ever. Especially to Georgie. And on those times I wanted to cut his nuts. I had an idea, why he's like that with her. And later it revealed, I was right. At first she was a target because of Sloane. Kiln saw he got a thing for Georgie. So, he wanted to do the same thing, what Sloane did with his wife. But when Georgie wasn't cooperative, no matter what Kiln did, he started to target her for her. Why? Because despite that she wasn't really in relationship with Sloane, Georgiana was always faithful to him. And that galled Kiln, because his own wife couldn't say the same. But did he redeemed himself enough at the end? I think he did. Saving a life of innocent is priceless.

There's going a lot of stuff. And I would really don't know where to start, if I started to talk about them all. A lot of twists, that makes you feel, like you're solving a puzzle. And I enjoyed ever sec of it.

Some people made to change my mind about them. At least a little. Other's still is on my s*** list.

I couldn't wait to see more of Phoenix rockers and theirs rocky road.

PS I was so happy to 'see' Death Dwellers crew. Especially my man, Psycho Stalker aka Outlaw/Christopher. Muah, babe.

Angst before the happy! Great!

You probably loved Inferno which is why you are planning to read this book. You will not be disappointed. All the crazy twists and turns finally coalesce into a fabulous HEA. I loved it. This is a keep-you-up-all-night-reading kind of book. I noticed one reviewer said this book was heartbreaking. I personally do not like books that break my heart so I just want to say that this book was the opposite of heartbreaking to me. All the bad guys get it in the end and the good guys triumph! I got happy tingles on the last page! I also really enjoyed seeing the Death Dweller characters at the end of this book. It really highlighted for me how distinct all Kathyrn Kelly's heroes are from each other. Their mannerisms, language, and outlook are all uniquely written but you cannot help but love them all (well except I have never really forgiven John Boy for Kendall). If you want some angst before your happy, I highly recommend this book.

Incendiary begins right where we left off in Inferno, with the aftermath of Sloane and Georgie's forbidden relationship. It’s forbidden for several reasons but mostly the age difference. When they meet she is sixteen and he is twenty-five. In this book she’s not quite eighteen and pregnant with Sloane’s baby and they are not together. It seems the age isn’t the only thing keeping them apart…..their families are a big issue and we find out even more about that in Incendiary.

Between the lies, accusations and ancient secrets it all creates an amazing love story in which two people fight to be together.

Georgie’s dad is a wuss, her mother is the worst evil bitch character I’ve ever read about (and that’s saying a lot!), her grandmother still calls all the shots, and Sloane is all over the media with women. This family is seriously cray cray! Georgie is an amazing character, she's so young, but has a maturity about her like she’s an old soul. She’s never known love - til she meets….

Sloane is the sexy, bad boy rock star with a past that is full of secrets and traumatic experiences. Sloane loves Georgie. I mean truly loves her. Will his father ruin everything? His father is a terrible awful character that controls the lives of Sloan & his siblings. The things he's done to his children most normal people couldn’t even dream up. Will Sloane decide to start making decisions himself? What will the fall out be if he does? Can he find his way back to Georgie?

Kathryn Kelly has such an amazing way of writing characters with extremely crazy situations. I for one got pulled into their world and felt like I was watching everything in real time. Even though her stories are somewhat dark and you want to scream at her, she finds a way to bring it all together. Georgie is such an amazing and relatable heroine, her story is not pretty but it is beautiful in strength. The author gives you glimpses of the young girl's age when she tries to deal with her infant daughter.

I love Kathryn Kelly's books and can't wait to see what she writes next!

a reverse apron for caping the many bulls of wisdom

There are essentially two symmetrical sections to the book. The first covers Kripke models ('standard models' in the jargon of Chellas), axiomatic normal modal logics, and then filtrations of such models to show these logics have the finite model property and are decidable. To tie up the section there is an application with a chapter on deontic logic. The second section has the same structure with the topics being neighborhood models (called 'minimal models' by Chellas) and classical modal logics (some of which are strictly weaker than the weakest normal modal logic K). Unfortunately the application chapters (deontic logic and conditional logic) are poorly motivated, though one might think the whole point of those chapters is to motivate the inclusion or validation of certain deontic or conditional principles.

There is a lot of good stuff that is relegated to sections on exercises--e.g., p-morphisms, a safe extensions theorem, modal algebras, translations and correspondences between modal formulas and their models and first-order ones and their models (known other places as "correspondence/definability theory").

While there is a good number of exercises, most of them I encountered were quite easy and repetitive. Because of this, I found the text better suited to philosophy undergraduates (or novice graduates) than computer science or mathematics students. But at the same time there is little philosophical digression.

The most redeeming feature of the book, I thought, was the latter section on neighboorhood models and weak modal logics. I was also surprised to find the little "correspondence theory" that there was in the book. However, a better variation of exercises (in terms of both difficulty and method of proof/construction) would be greatly welcome.

An excellent introduction to modal logic

Modal logic is the logic of necessity and possibility. It includes "deontic logic" - the logic of duty (and the logic of the law), plus epistemic logic. Modal logic is a simplified form of the first order predicate logic.
The text explains the various axioms of modal logic -- such as "M, C, K, N, P" Other texts include Sally Popkorn (emphasis on semantics), and Hughes & Cresswell (slighly more advanced).

NOT AN INTRODUCTION

Looking for an _introduction_ I selected this book. After receiving it I realized that I was not prepared for this introduction. With a background in business, math and computer logic I thought that this might be an easy place to start to learn (it says introduction) Modal logic.

1. The syntax is never fully explained
2. The symbols are so small they are very hard to read - hence, it is easy to mix some of them to the ​point of ill-logic
3. Never is there an explanation as to what the reader should have studied to understand the introduction

Will hold on to this book and re-review after I find a REAL introduction to modal logic.

Got my TW Our Story Our Way book in the mail a few days ago because I am a HUGE fan of the boys! Opened it up and couldn't put it down lol It was soo awesome to get to know the boys before the glam! And in their words, I could almost literally hear them talking! Too funny! If you are a TW fan you need this book! It's a MUST have for any and all TW fans!!

I received my book after many days of waiting. My order said it would be a new book but you could tell it was not. The book was all scratched up and the corners were all bent. The book itself is great and I love learning more about my favorite band.I'm not happy with how it came.

Here's a book of criticism we _all_ will wish we'd written!

Missy Kubitschek's book does the impossible: she presents a thoughtful, educated, and appreciative reading of Morrison that makes these wonderful novels even more accessible than even good readers could imagine. For teachers who want to provide their students with a superb critical model, here it is. Look at the literate biographical first chapter. The "contexts" chapter moves smoothly and clearly through the critical whitewater of postmodernism, orality, and black identity. The chapters focusing on individual Morrison novels (even the daunting _Paradise_) illuminate Morrison's careful plot and characterization strategies. Best of all, each chapter showcases a particular critical strategy (formalist, historicist, archetypal, "Afro-modernist," etc.) as a lens through which to read the text. This is not only a brilliant teaching strategy, it's delightfully readable. I was surprised and moved all over again at the author's deft discussion of marigolds in _Bluest Eye_ and its subtle evocation of the Demeter/Persephone theme. It's the best discussion I've read of _Paradise_ and the chapter on _Sula_ brought that novel's power home to me years after my first reading of it. This is criticism at its very best.

My Favorite All Time Book!

My mother collected used Scottish books for me. Out of all the Scottish romance books I have read over the years this one is my absolute favorite. The history of the time in this book is spellbinding. I am fullfilling my lifetime dream of going to Scotland and decided I must read it again before I go this summer. The characters are so awesome, you never forget them.
I will never forget when he purchases her a bracelet that is inscribed, "Fear na ye, My ain true luve."

Danger, intrique, romance, history...this book has it all and you will not be able to put it down.. Very engaging and complex characters, you are there with them throughout the book. Set in Scotland, Elspeth Lamond is stolen from her Campbell kin to be set upon the front steps of her estraged fathers Castle. The Ward of the powerful and greedy Duke of Argyle, Elspeth is plunged into a political arena of tretchery as her Guardian will do anything to gain lands and power, Elspeth discovers herself, the family she'd never known, and the Bigger than life Laird of the MacHughs who helps her realize who she truely is. Definitely one for the bookshelf you will read it over and over again. Out of print...please look to used books on Amazon to acquire a copy...you will not be disapointed...
